Greetings! and welcome, all you seniors (60+years young) who need companionship, or like to play games, or just want to sit and visit, have a cup of coffee, and not have to figure out what’s for lunch. We meet at Forney City Hall Monday thru Friday, 8:00 to 2:00. Complimentary donuts to go w/your coffee after 11:00 from HAPPY DAYS. Lunch served at 12:00; but we do need a count for the cook - so please call Jennifer at Layden Senior Center, 972.564.7348 for a reservation.
Last Wednesday, we had a good group for COVERED DISH and, needless to say, much good food, as usual. All you good cooks must look forward to that!
And on Saturday, 26 of us gathered for GAME NIGHT, played dominoes, forty-two, card games, etc; and enjoyed the fellowship and a good meal together.
Our exercise session was canceled this week. Hopefully, we’ll have it next week; check the calendar at The Center for details.
Every Friday, we play BINGO at 10:30. Please remember to wear red to show your patriotism, and to show our concern for our troops!
As I write this copy, we’re looking forward to our Birthday Celebration, which is fourth Wednesday. I don’t know how many of you read your horoscope; but as I read mine every day, I’m amazed at how it applies; (or maybe it just might be appropriate for anyone no matter what sign they’re born under.) Either way, I’d like to share mine for today. Maybe it will have meaning for you, too. “Sometimes one of the hardest thing of all is seeing things as they really are. Going through the various illusions is the first step toward accepting things as they are. It could also be the most difficult. And why is it important to accept how they are? Only then can you engage with the real world, which is the only way to really make any necessary changes.”
