NFHS varsity volleyball: NFHS varsity volleyball Lady Falcons lose to Crandall in 3 games

Forney-- On Tuesday, September 22, the North Forney Lady Falcons varsity volleyball team lost to perennial playoff power Crandall in 3 games by a count of 25-15, 25-14, 25-13.

With the win, Crandall improves to 17-6 and 3-1. With the loss, North Forney falls to 6-17 and 0-3

Led by the play of Kristi Applewhite and Kacie Byford, (Good Hitting by Both Players in the Game), Crandall won Game 1 by a count of 25-16.  Byford was a force offensively all match long for the Lady Rabbits. She registered several authoritative kills in the match.

In Game 2, the outstanding serving of Trisha Bradshaw helped Crandall take the game by a count of 25-14. When Bradshaw went back to serve, the game was close but by the time her service run ended, Crandall had a 15-4 lead. From there, the Lady Pirates coasted home to win the game.

Crandall won Game 3 easily by a count of 25-13 behind the strong play of Trisha Bradshaw, Breana Josephson, and Mallorie Newton (Solid Serving by this Trio in Game 3).

North Forney fans can take pride in the fact that the Lady Falcons competed hard all match long against a very good opponent.

Team beats Venus in 4 games

Venus, Texas, September 25, 2009—Remember that date, Falcons fans. because that is the date when your varsity volleyball team won the first-ever District game in any sport in school history.

North Forney beat Venus in 4 games by a count of 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23.

With the win, North Forney improves to 7-17 overall on the season and to 1-3 in District 12-3A play.

The Lady Falcons won because Shelby Hedrick played one of her best matches of the season. In the match, she pounded down 15 kills, and she registered 10 aces.  Hedrick simply put the team on her back and she carried them to victory.

Congratulations Head Coach Jessica Eickenloff, her coaching staff, and her team for winning this memorable match.
