Baylen Laury, a Southeastern Oklahoma junior runningback, has been named Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Laury rushed for 184 yards and a pair of scores in leading Southeastern to a 49-47 win over Eastern New Mexico, on the road. Laury averaged 8.4 yards per carry, bolstered by his season-long run of 75 yards which gave Southeastern the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter. He also added 71 yards receiving on five catches, and in addition to his long run, he also had the Storm’s long reception of the contest at 42 yards. He is currently the leading rusher in the conference after, bringing his season average up over to 115.7 ypg.
Baylen is a graduate of Forney High School, where he played football for the Jackrabbits.
