On Saturday, January 23, the boys’ and girls’ power lifting Teams of Forney High School made their presence known in a big way at the Royse City Power Lifting Meet.  

The girls’ team won the meet in a dominating fashion as 9 Lady Rabbits finished in the Top 3 of their weight class. Those 9 Lady Rabbits are Lauren Hartwick (1st in the 181 lb. weight class -  combined total of 895 lbs), Amber West (1st in the 198 lb. weight class -  combined total of 760 lbs.), Shae Weaver (1st in the 220 lb. weight class - combined total of 625 lbs.),  KiKi Townsend  (1st in the 114 lb. weight class - combined total of 540 lbs.), Katie Eastep (1st in the 165 lb, weight class - combined total of 480 lbs.), Erika Jasso (2nd in the 148 lb. weight class - combined total of 595 lbs.), Sara Branton (2nd in the 132 lb. weight class - combined total of 570 lbs.), Leah Norman (3rd in the 181 lb. weight class- - combined total of 680 lbs.), and Sarah Miller (3rd in the 220+ weight class - combined total of 640 lbs.).

Individually, Lauren Hartwick was recognized as the Outstanding Lifter of the Meet.

In the boys’ meet, noteworthy performances for Forney were turned in by Rishaad Wimbley, Chris Ramos, and James Bickman.

Wimbley placed 1st in the 275 lb. weight class. Overall, he lifted an impressive combined total of 1,565 lbs. Ramos finished 2nd in the 275 lb. weight as he lifted a solid combined total of 1,300 lbs. Bickman came in 2nd in the 132 lb. weight class as he lifted a fantastic combined total of 805 lbs.  

Individually, Wimbley was recognized as the Outstanding Lifter of the Meet.
