Mesquite (Tuesday, March 9, 2010)—Coming into their District 15-4A opener, Forney was playing some good baseball.
After going undefeated at the always tough Waxahachie tournament, Forney’s record stood at an impressive 7-2.
So, the Rabbits had to feel confident going up against their rival Poteet.
But then Poteet’s Austin Blunt threw a perfect game against the Rabbits. He faced 21 batters and he retired all of them. He struck out 10 Rabbits in the game. He was in total control.
Forney has a good team, but on this night they could not solve Austin Blunt.
With the win, Poteet improves to 9-1 overall on the season and to 1-0 in District 15-4A play. With the loss, Forney falls to 7-3 and 0-1.
