From 40 to 50 girls at Smith Elementary got locked in the cafeteria last Friday evening, May 22. But it wasn’t an accident and no one had to call the fire department to get them out. On May 22, Smith Elementary’s Diamond Club, an extracurricular program for girls in grades 4 through 6, held an end-of-the-year mini lock-in.
The mini lock-in was a “first” for the group, which was organized at the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year and has been meeting monthly. But although the event was a first, the sense of energy and fun hit you the minute you walked through the door!
