Head Start
- Rhea Elementary

The Forney Head Start Program based at Rhea Elementary, recently celebrated “Happy Healthy Heart Habits”! They began the afternoon with a Parent Meeting with the Tooth Fairy as their guest. She discussed and demonstrated proper teeth brushing using parent volunteers Drew Hardman and Andres Ramirez. After the meeting the parents joined the Head Start student in their classroom for their teeth brushing demonstration and presentation of “My Heart Says Thanks” & “Mix It All Up” from the Choosy Kids, Be Choosy, Be Healthy Program. Next, the students placed their right hand over their “Happy Healthy Heart” and recited the “Pledge of Allegiance” to the American flag and the Texas Pledge. The students have practice their pledges every morning all school year. In recognition of their hard work, they were awarded a hand-sized American Flag and a certificate of achievement. Lastly, the students enjoyed healthy smoothies and a popcorn snack with their families. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the family members who attended, the Tooth Fairy for coming, Mr. Drew Hardman for  volunteering, and Mr. Ramirez for volunteering and preparing our popcorn snack.
