FORNEY - The votes for the mascot and school colors for North Forney High School have been tabulated and the top two nominees for both the mascot and school colors will be voted on by students who have been zoned to attend North High School. Only students who have been zoned for North Forney High School will vote for the mascot and school colors.

Freshman students at Forney High School who are zoned for North Forney High School were mailed their ballots and 7th and 8th grade students at Brown Middle School will cast their vote at school on Friday, Aug. 29. All votes are due to the district by Friday, Aug. 29, 2008.

Forney ISD conducted two surveys that were posted on the district’s website during the months of July and August. The first survey, conducted throughout the month of July, accepted nominations for both the school mascot and school colors. In August, the district posted a new survey that allowed votes to be cast for the mascots and school colors that received most nominations.

The top two nominations for the school mascot from the August survey were the Falcons and the Roughriders and the school color combinations that received the most votes were Black/Blue and Black/Orange. North Forney High School students will vote for one mascot and one school color combination. The final results will be compiled and presented to the Forney ISD Board of Trustees during the district’s regular board meeting on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.
