Students, parents, teachers and volunteers attended Johnson Elementary’s 4th Annual Fall Carnival on Saturday, October 24th.
Donning their Halloween best, the students enjoyed the cake walk, the carnival games, the bounce houses and especially dunking their teachers in the dunking booth. The PTO hosted their annual silent auction auctioning off various donations from local businesses.
This year each class also put forth their best efforts and brightest ideas to create a character pumpkin to include in the auction. The biggest hit was third grades’ Wizard of Oz theme – complete with pumpkins as Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow. Ms. Woods’ 4th grade hamburger pumpkin, which included a real meat patty, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and pumpkin seeds as sesame seeds also drew a lot of attention from carnival spectators.
Among all the excitement were two performances from Forney’s Dancin’ Ovations dance teams and music provided by a DJ throughout the event.
The PTO wishes to thank everyone involved for their time and resources to make this year’s Fall Carnival another success.
