Forney Messenger, Inc: Comparison to ’08 shows FISD attendance down

School attendance to this point in the 2009-2010 school year is down, according to a comparison of the latest 2009 attendance figures from corresponding figures for 2008.

In 2008, attendance for the period August 27-October 6 was 97.70%. For the same period this year, attendance is 95.98%.

The figures were e-mailed to the Messenger by Larry Coker, the district’s Director of Communications.

Attendance is down 1.72% this year as compared to last year.

Coker did not give a cause for the decline.
