Forney High School Band sweeps USSBA competition

RED OAK—The Forney High School Marching Band recently participated in the first marching competition of the school year and swept all categories in the regional competition.

The event, held at Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Texas on Saturday, Sept. 26, is a national contest under the United States Scholastic Band Association, (USSBA). The event uses Olympic scoring that is compared nationwide with simultaneous competitions across the country.

The Forney High School Marching Band won every category including music, visual, color guard, percussion and overall effect. In the nationwide scoring, the band finished second by only one point. The nationwide competition included 14 other marching band competitions across the country.
