On Tuesday, May 12th, Criswell Elementary hosted its annual parent and child reading night for MTA and ESL students. Each year, students are encouraged to bring an adult with them to this special event. This year parents, guardians, and/or grandparents accompanied the students. The participants chose books in Jennifer Acker’s classroom; found beanbags, pillows, or chairs to sit in and read; and then the students took Accelerated Reader tests in either the computer lab or Mrs. Acker’s room. The students were able to spend some quality time with their special adults and were able to earn additional Accelerated Reader points to be used at the final AR store later this month.
