Criswell’s 2009 Spelling Bee was held January 29 at 8:30 a. m. in the school cafeteria. Bishop Gragg was the campus winner, with Kayleigh Klaren as first runner-up. Twenty-nine students from fourth, fifth, and sixth grades participated.
The campus bee is part of the National Scripps Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Dallas Morning News. The campus winner advanced to the county level, which was held February 11 at Nash Intermediate School in Kaufman.
The following students were participants in the Criswell Spelling Bee:
Sixth grade:
