On April 25, 2008, the Claybon PTO held their first ever Mother/Son Dodgeball Event in the school’s gymnasium, as mothers and sons enjoyed a friendly evening of dodgeball.

The evening started with the PTO serving unlimited pizza and drinks to all in attendance.  Even at this early point in the evening, some were already beginning to develop a winning game plan.   The students were divided up into age groups, with the younger groups going first, and once in the gym, the groups were separated into two teams. The dodgeballs were lined up in the middle, and the moms and sons waited in high anticipation for the whistle to start the game.Once those dodgeballs started flying—on’t worry, they were Nerf dodgeballs—all pleasantries were temporally put aside, and the competitive spirit came out.

The evening proved to be a great success as attendance for the event was greater than expected. Along with the pizza, drinks, and fun games, the PTO also held drawings throughout the night for various prizes.

The Claybon PTO would like to thank all who attended for coming out and making the evening a great success.
