On October 15, 2009, Blackburn Elementary’s 5th and 6th grade students preformed an outstanding program!  The singing was wonderful, the pitches were awesome, and it’s all thanks to the school’s music teacher Mrs. Teresa Dodson.  The students had 6 weeks to practice in music class during specials. The hard-working students also went to music during their computer time and even in the mornings before school sometimes. When it was time to go on stage the wonderful students gave it their all!

The performance began with the song “The Dream Starts Now”, it was a very peaceful, calm and fantastic song. Everyone on stage then told what their dreams for growing up were.  Students then sang “If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me”, this was a song to dance to!  The students kept a good beat and pitch throughout the singing.  Then all of 6th grade and a few students from 5th grade sang the song “Respect”. It was a song to rock out to!  The students and teachers enjoyed it very much.

Next, all of 5th grade and a few from 6th grade sang the song “Responsibility”, a song with a country beat like you would hear riding in the car with your parents. The song really got everyone saying “YEE-HAA!!” and clapping.

The last song preformed was a mix of “If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me” and “The Dream Starts Now”. It was a splendid ending!  Everyone was proud of the wonderful program, and it even taught a lesson: drink beer!
