The story of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is familiar to many, as books, TV programs, radio shows, and songs for years have shared Mary’s journey to Bethlehem and much of what followed.

This month I would like to wish you all a happy New Year! Isn’t it a bit early? you might ask. Only about 10 days early. No, I am not crazy. Even though January 1, 2009 is not for several more weeks, the first Sunday in the Christian New Year is November 30, 2008. That is the first Sunday in the season of Advent. Advent is a season of penitence and anticipation of celebrating God’s greatest gift to humanity—his Son, Jesus Christ.

Pastor Rocky Weatherford and the congregation of Chisholm Baptist Church would like to extend an enthusiastic invitation to join them for what they are hoping will be spiritual revival at its purest and strongest. These folks are opening their doors and their hearts to anyone that is ready to hear God’s word, accept His spirit, and let him move in their lives. They are hoping and expecting to see God move by bringing souls to Christ for the first time, as well as moving those that already know the Lord to a renewed dedication of faith and service.
